Security Horizons programme

The Security Horizons Programme will provide a trusted environment for strategic and policy debate about the significant challenges to security and our way of life in the digital age.

The Programme is a co-ordinated series of events and thought-leading research designed for leaders of government, commercial and law enforcement organisations, policy advisers, think tanks and influential industry bodies. The vision for the Security Horizons Programme is to lead opinion and comment on national security matters in the digital age. Around a focused series of themes, the Programme will deliver a co-ordinated series of discussion events — roundtables, seminars, workshops and conferences — and develop new thinking on high-priority issues. The themes currently include:

  • Cyber security seeking to forge a dynamic interaction between policy-makers, technologists and other key stakeholders in cyber security.
  • Serious organised crime building a better understanding of the harm caused by organised crime in the digital age.
  • Protecting the public from crime identifying innovative, information-based approaches to better protect individuals and communities from crime.
  • Safer places assessing the challenges of minimising risk in complex public places and developing new ideas so that people can go about their lives freely and with confidence.
