Public Sector
Detica's Public Sector practice works for central government departments, law enforcement agencies, transport agencies and major local government bodies. Our clients include HM Revenue & Customs, Home Office and Department for Trade and Industry as well as Highways Agency, Network Rail and the Metropolitan Police. Detica contracts through both direct arrangements and frameworks with particular departments including the DCSA Catalogue. Now, we are also delighted to have been awarded a Catalist framework agreement with OGCbuying.solutions. Click

Organisations across the public sector have opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness through better exploitation of the data and information they generate. The Gershon Review is driving many of the requirements, calling for dramatic departmental efficiency improvements across government, through streamlining operations from the front to the back office.
The transport sector is seeking to improve capacity utilisation, control costs and improve safety. These aims will be achieved through better traffic management, improved asset management and improved information services for customers. All of these are underpinned by data exploitation. In the law enforcement community, police services are seeking to improve their law enforcement capabilities by better sharing of information and intelligence on a nationwide basis. The recent Bichard Inquiry has added further impetus to this goal.
We are helping clients meet these challenges and get the most out of IT investments by, for example:
- Managing major IT change programmes on behalf of public sector clients to reduce programme cost and risk.
- Building anti-corruption systems to identify fraudulent behaviour amongst public sector staff.
- Delivering web portals to provide citizens with access to information and enable self-service to reduce costs.
- Building business intelligence systems to measure the effectiveness of business processes and to identify process efficiencies.
