Detica's Professionalism Results in Chairmanship of The INTELLECT Quality Group

Detica Quality Manager now responsible for influencing UK Government, standards bodies and IT industry best practice.
Arthur Hill, Business Process and Quality Manager at IT services consultancy, Detica, has been appointed Chairman of the Quality Group at INTELLECT, the association created to give a single powerful voice for the IT, telecommunications and electronics industries in the UK.
The Quality Group, a firm supporter of ISO 9001 and the TickIT scheme, has a pivotal role in influencing Government and standards bodies, as well as communicating information and best practice amongst the member companies of INTELLECT. The association incorporates all members of the CSSA and the FEI, as well as representing over 1000 individual organisations.
"Arthur's election recognises the high level of involvement and the quality of leadership provided by Detica in supporting and advancing the quality cause across all of the issues affect our industry today," said John Higgins, Director General at INTELLECT. "Arthur has always been a champion of quality and we are delighted that he has accepted this position."
In his role as Chair of the Quality Group, Hill's remit will include:
  • Defining the structure and form of the Group's programme for the year.
  • Co-ordinating the activities of the external committees and working groups.
  • Overseeing production of the Group's annual report.
  • Arranging briefings for the Group from some of the industry's top thinkers, on all issues affecting quality.
"This is a significant and influential position within the industry, representing the largest block of IT services and software companies in the UK," said Arthur Hill. "Taking on this role is not only a personal honour, but also reflects the respect the marketplace has for Detica's professionalism."
